The Hungarian Academy of Wine presented the Winemaker of the Year award to Éva Dignisz Gál at a gala luncheon on Sunday. Dignisz Gál, the first woman to have won the title grows grapes with her husband, Csaba Gál, on 70 hectares on Csepel Island, south of Budapest, and ten hectares north of Lake Balaton.

If anything, I’m noticing more cellars adding their bottles to the supermarket shelves, which may simply mean that marketing has upped a notch or two.
