The primary goal of the program of improvement was the introduction of quality Hungarian products that can be found and bought there. In the Avenue of Hungaricums you can also see the world famous scientific invention of Gabor Domokos and Peter Varkonyi, the Gömböc (Gomboc).
Hungarian Grape Growers Protest Against Italian Wine Imports

Grape growers from central and southern Hungary’s Kunság region protested at the Italian embassy in Budapest against what they say is a large influx of Italian imported wine. The demonstration was organised by the interest-protection association of grape growers who say cheap Italian imports make it impossible for Kunság winemakers to survive in the market.

Herend porcelain, which is one of Hungary's acknowledged symbols which it is a value and a privilege to own, as well as pálinka and grape marc pálinka, which are already regarded as the nation's unique specialities, are from today officially Hungaricums - announced Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas following the meeting of the Hungaricum Committee in Herend.

The Hungaricum Committee classified three additional products as hungarikums – distinctive products unique to Hungary – at its meeting in the village of Herend, Veszprém county yesterday. The new hungarikums are handmade porcelain from Herend, pálinka and the grapeskin brandy törkölypálinka.
