KSH: More And More Hungarians Can Afford Holidays Abroad

In the first quarter of this year, Hungarians paid a total 3.6 million visits to other countries, 5.4% up from the same period last year, according to Central Statistical Office (KSH) data. Spending by those Hungarian visitors amounted to 125 billion forints (EUR 400m), up 13% compared to 2014.

The EP debate centred on two issues: the Hungarian government’s standpoints on migration and the death penalty. A number of speakers accused the Hungarian prime minister of opposing basic European values.

Two of the country’s best-known rock bands are heading off to conquer the audiences of far-away countries this year. Alternative rock favourites Quimby will take to the stage in clubs in the European cities of London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg and Vienna between 15 and 29 May, joined by another well-known alternative band, Kispál és a Borz in Amsterdam and Vienna.

This year a unique team entered the famous Danube Regatta rowing competition: the men’s crew of Harvard University rowing team grabbed paddles and kept rowing until they reached the first place and won the race.
