The Goulash Festival started in 1999 in Szolnok which is the capital of goulash. At the beginning there were 150 cauldron which increased to 500–600 cauldron in these days. The number of the contestants and visitors stabilized between 40 and 45.000. The aim of the organizers is to save Hungarian Goulash and introduce it in domestic and foreign markets.
