Plans for the construction of the new Puskás Stadium in Budapest will be downsized and simplified as they were too risky and costly, daily Népszabadság said, citing government commissioner for the project Balázs Fürjes. Using the original plans, the 100 billion forints (EUR 327m) allocated for the development would have only covered two-thirds of the cost, Fürjes said.

Marshall (pictured on left, with previous British Ambassador to Hungary Mr Jonathon Knott). This game was packed with goals as the video below shows, for the record the match scorers were Gulyás (2'), Kószás (22'), Pölöskei (35') and Miskovicz (9'), Tóth (19').

Three men who held up the flag of Hungary’s wartime fascist Arrow-Cross party were yesterday banned from all Hungarian professional football matches for periods of two to four years by the Capital Court. The incident occurred after the FTC-Újpest first-division game at the Puskás Ferenc Stadium on September 22, 2013 in the presence of nearly 1,000 fans and police.
