Balog: Health-Care Staff Salaries To Double In 2010-2020

A total 96,000 doctors and nurses have received a pay rise since 2010, and all employees in Hungarian health care will have had their pay doubled by the end of the decade, Human Resources Minister Zoltán Balog told public Kossuth Rádió.
Hungarian Hospital Debt Rapidly Increasing

Hungary’s ailing hospitals amassed a total debt of 68.2 billion forints (EUR 220m) by the end of June, daily Népszava reported, adding that the amount was increasing by 3-4 billion forints each month. Out of the 68.2 billion forints total, hospitals owed 51.8 billion to suppliers, the report said.

The new building of the Paskál Bath in Budapest is officially open. The new facility operates with seven new pools, and it is open all year round, travelo.hu reports. The 2345 square metre bath used to have only two pools. The 10-month-long construction project cost HUF 1.4bn, and it was financed from the company’s own sources, said László Szőke, CEO of the Budapest Spas at the press conference.

Although the number of abortions in Hungary dropped by 22.9 percent between 2010-2015 and declined by a further 4.1 percent in the first three months this year, their ratio is still high in a European comparison, a human resources ministry official told daily Magyar Hírlap.
