Fully 57 percent of Hungarian employers have trouble filling positions, a survey conducted by staffing company ManpowerGroup released on Tuesday shows. Altogether 32 percent of the survey’s respondents said they were struggling with a lack of applicants for the vacant positions while 31 percent complained of a shortage of skilled labour.

Retail sales growth in Hungary picked up to an annual 5.8% in August after 2.9% in July, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) confirmed in a second reading of data. Adjusted for calendar year effects, retail sales rose by 4.3% in August, picking up from an increase of 3.9% in July.
