The National Election Committee (NVB) sanctioned a referendum question on Sunday shopping restrictions and a signature drive can now be started in the interest of holding a referendum on the question. The question approved by the NVB was submitted by Gabriella Simon Gercsényi as a private individual on October 20, and then again on October 30 with some required changes.

Hungary’s Supreme Court has upheld a decision of the National Election Office (NVB) rejecting referendum questions on the subject of Sunday shopping restrictions. The Kúria ruled in three cases on Tuesday, rejecting the appeals mainly on procedural grounds, it said on its website.
