A Budapest court on Monday rejected a lawsuit submitted by art collector Imre Pákh against the classification of the painting Golgotha by 19th-century artist Mihály Munkácsy as a protected part of the national heritage.
New Direct Flight Between Budapest & Algiers Launched

The first flight operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft and departed Algiers Houari Boumedienne Airport on 15th of September 2016 at 9 AM with arrival at Budapest List Ferenc Airport at 1 PM. The return flight departed from Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport on 15th of September at 8 pm with the arrival to Algiers at 10 pm.

Over 200,000 people visited an exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s works, which closed on August 28 at the Hungarian National Gallery, the museum said. The four-month display, co-organised by the Musée National Picasso in Paris, has been the largest ever such exhibition in Hungary with some 100 paintings, drawings and sculpture by the artist, the Gallery said in its statement.

They bring a variety of different folk crafts ranging from woodcarving to egg painting. Visitors can partake in many of the activities, as well as enjoy live folk music and dance performances.

Hungary’s largest ever Picasso exhibition has so far attracted more than 150,000 visitors since its opening in the Budapest National Gallery in April, the museum said. Entitled “Picasso - Transfigurations, 1895-1972”, the exhibition shows some 100 paintings, drawings, sculptures and other artwork spanning the artist’s entire oeuvre of 77 years.

The exhibition 'Picasso – Changes of Shape, 1895-1972' now under way at the Hungarian National Gallery has been prolonged by one month to August 28 (apparently due to it's popularity - ed).
