If you have ever wondered how the sprawling patchwork of districts in the capital became the unified city we know today, the Budapest City Archives is currently offering a deep dive into that very journey. The exhibition, "Budapest 75," traces the complex urban evolution of the city from a collection of independent towns and villages into the vibrant Greater Budapest established in 1950.
Extended Summer Opening Hours & Special Evening Programs at Skanzen in Szentendre

From July 5 to August 23, visitors are welcome to the Szentendre Open-Air Ethnographic Museum every Saturday evening with extended opening hours until 8 p.m., where evening programs include historical lectures, thematic walks, concerts, film screenings and exhibitions.

Budapest’s 'Party District', a quarter of Erzsébetváros in District VII with zany bars, beer gardens and restaurants that pre-coronavirus throbbed 24/7, is very slowly coming back to its former boozy, buzzing self. But not all are happy with the renaissance; for some the lockdown provided much welcomed relief.
