The legalization of cannabis is “not timely yet” in Hungary, however debate on its medical use could and should be started, toxicologist Gábor Zacher said in connection with liberal MP Gábor Fodor’s submitted draft amendment on the legalization of cannabis.

Our former pastor, the Reverend Canon Denis Moss will be guest of honour and speaker. The date being celebrated is the 25th anniversary of St. Margaret’s becoming licensed as a church in Hungary.

The national smoking rate in Hungary has declined in recent years, but the number of young smokers has grown, the state secretary for health care said. Speaking at a press conference on the occasion of the upcoming World No Tobacco Day, Zoltán Ónodi-Szűcs called the law protecting non-smokers one of the “greatest achievements” of the past few years.

The City of Eger is over a thousand years old, with its glorious historical past, valuable historical building complexes, wines and curative waters is one of the most famous cities of Hungary. It was a bishop's seat as early as during the reign of our first king, Szent István.

Parliament will consider a proposal to impose uniform packaging on packs of cigarettes in the autumn, Prime Minister’s Office chief János Lázár announced yesterday. If approved, cigarette packs would feature only health warnings along with the name of the manufacturer in an identical font and size without any logos.

The number of chain-smokers in Hungary has increased, reports Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet. According to the data provided by the Central Statistical Office, while the number of cigarette smokers decreased from 31 percent in 2009 to 29 percent in 2014, the number of chain-smokers increased in 2014 to 28 percent of all smokers from 27 percent in 2009.
