The European Commission (EC) has given the green light to a cross-border cooperation programme between Hungary and Austria worth 30 billion forints (EUR 95m). The commission Interreg funds will cover 78 million euros. The Hungarian-born American art collector Imre Pákh said that he will have Mihály Munkácsy’s monumental painting “Golgotha” removed from the Déri Museum in Debrecen because talks on the possible sale of the work to the state have fallen through.
