Commemorations will be held to pay tribute to József Antall, Hungary’s prime minister between 1990-93, on Thursday, the 20th anniversary of his death. Péter Boross, who became prime minister after Antall’s death, told MTI on the eve of the anniversary that Antall was a “well-prepared, calm politician who contributed to the long-term interests of the nation”.

After ten years of renovation, the Liszt Academy of Music will reopen on October 22, the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice announced on Tuesday. The reopening of the famous institution, founded in 1875, will also mark the 202nd birth anniversary of its founder, Franz Liszt. The academy nurtures the cultural heritage of Franz Liszt, Zoltán Kodály, Béla Bartok and Ernő Dohnányi.
