Following a telephone outage between 4 and 5 April 2013 when the British Embassy was unable to receive telephone calls, we are pleased to announce that this technical issue has now been resolved. Our telephone services are now fully functional, and a full service has been resumed.

Due to the critical situation in Syria, Hungary suspended the activity of its Embassy in Damascus as of December 5, 2012, and all Hungarian diplomats have left Syria. As a result, the handling of consular affairs and visa issuances also terminated.

Iván Bába, Administrative State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ilan Mor, Ambassador of Israel in Hungary, opened the exhibition „Visa for Life” in the main building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs November 13. The exhibition commemorates diplomats who rescued many persecuted Jews during the Second World War by risking, and even at times sacrificing, their own lives.
