RIP: Peter Zwack was born in Budapest, where he finished high school, before being forced to flee the country in 1948. He subsequently continued with his studies in Milan and then in New York at the faculty of economics.

"Bottlehugger Ben and I (Treehugger Dan) were very happy to get an invite from XpatLoop.com to attend their wine tasting with Izabella Zwack last night (June 30) at the Radisson SAS Béke Hotel on Terez Krt. Yes, it is Izabella's family that is also responsible for Unicum.

Izabella Zwack was raised in a small village in one of Italy's more notable wine regions. In 1988 she joined her family upon their return to Hungary where her father Peter Zwack got to work restoring the family business producing Unicum, the definitive Hungarian spirit.

A great group of Xpat Wine Lovers gathered to taste wines from: Légli Géza, Rókusfalbi Pál, Ráspi, Köpcös, Szászi Endre, Bock József, Dobogó Pincészet. Plus a special Zwack Maximilian 'The Spirit of Tokaj' tasting went down well, and guests ended the event feeling merry and in good spirits!
