• New Wolf Videos Released By WWF Hungary

    WWF Hungary just released footages from camera traps placed at the Aggtelek National Park, Northern Hungary. The videos show the young wolves that have been followed by the local researcher since their birth. The footage captures the moment when the young wolves are bullied by a wild boar. A few minutes later a heard of wild boars stroll through the area.

  • Hungary's PM Says Brussels Cannot Ignore "Migrant Quotas" Vote

    Almost all those who voted in a referendum in Hungary on Sunday rejected EU migrant quotas, but the turnout was too low to make the poll valid. Only around 40% of eligible people cast a ballot falling short of the 50% threshold. Nevertheless the country's hardline right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orban said the result can not be ignored by Brussels:

    The Counter-Terrorist Centre conducted a bomb alert exercise at the Puskás Ferenc metro station from midnight to 2 a.m. last night. The TEK wrote in a statement that the exercise would include loud noises and flashing lights. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic was restricted until 2 a.m.

    The 4th Sekler Cake Festival, or the big Hungarian bake-off, will fill the heart of the city with the fragrance of heavenly 'Sekler cakes' once more this weekend. Chimney Cake, or in Hungarian Kürtős Kalács, is a typical Hungarian pastry, which is baked on a tapered cylindrical spit over an open fire. It originates from Transylvania. The name derives from the Hungarian words kürtő, meaning chimney or stove pipe, and kalács meaning milk-loaf.
