Responding to the release of a video showing police in the Röszke camp throwing bags of food and bottled water to migrants, a police spokesperson said an investigation had been launched. The video had been recorded at the southern border camp by the wife of an Austrian 'green' politician who had been distributing humanitarian aid at the camp.

An agreement with Germany and Austria has allowed Hungary to transfer asylum seekers to the Austrian border. On Friday, groups of migrants from Keleti railway station and from several refugee camps left for Austria on foot after the Budapest-Vienna train line was shut down because of the presence of refugees along the rails.
Police apprehended a total of 5,386 border violators over the weekend. A report published on the police’s website shows that 2,181 persons were apprehended on Friday, 1,002 on Saturday and 2,203 on Sunday. Criminal proceedings were started against 38 people for human smuggling and against five people for forging documents. Most border violators were caught in the southern parts of Csongrád County, a police spokesman said.
