Prof. Dr. Mohamed AIT KADI is currently the President of the General Council of Agricultural Development, a high-level policy think tank of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Forestry in Morocco.
He also served as the Secretary General of the Ministry. He is a member of the Founding Commission of the Initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture, “AAA”. He was the Chief Agricultural Negotiator of the free trade agreement between Morocco and the United States.
He has been a member of several boards including the Board of the Central Bank of Morocco, the CGIAR Consortium Board, IFPRI’s Board of Trustees and the Board of Advisors of the World Agricultural Forum.
He has served in many high-level international assignments, recently including the water and irrigation expert in the International External Evaluation Team of FAO and the member of the advisory panel in the World Bank for the evaluation work of its water projects.
Prof. Dr. Ait Kadi was chair of the Technical Committee of the Global Water Partnership. He was Governor and founding member of the World Water Council and President of the organizing committee of the first World Water Forum held in Marrakech in 1997. He is honorary vice-president of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID).
He is the author of numerous publications in the fields of irrigation, water management, agriculture and rural development.
