Watch: Hungary’s Klubrádió Continues Online
HVG witnessed Klubrádió’s switch to online broadcasting as its licence expired at midnight Sunday.

"Nothing happened, just a nasty execution, but the executed survived," commented András Arató, president and majority owner of Klubrádió, on the transition from analogue to online.

A Klubrádió employee dressed in black turned off the frequency switch in front of the staff and photographers gathered for the media history moment.

The morning program started smoothly, without any technical problems, editor-in-chief Gábor Pataki told HVG after the first hours of online operation on Monday morning.

The start, he said, was very encouraging, as “what I saw this morning was well beyond my dreams: 16,000 were listening to the morning broadcast, and it kept increasing towards 20,000”.
