Guest Nights Rise 79% in October in Hungary

The number of guest nights spent by foreign visitors jumped by 565.1% to 694,000, while those spent by domestic travellers climbed by 20.3% to 1,039,000.

Wizz Air launched its Budapest-Brasov flight to Romania on Tuesday, flying three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, spokeswoman Zsuzsa Trubek announced at the airport.
Guest nights at commercial and private accommodations in Hungary rose by an annual 13% to 3.7 million in May from the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said.
Budapest Airport welcomed two new Chinese flights in the last week of June, with the launch of direct Guangzhou-Budapest and Xi’an-Budapest flights. Together with the Budapest-Shenzhen route, which will join the new additions in August, a total of seven direct passenger flights will be available between Budapest and China.
The first scheduled direct flight from Guangzhou arrived in Budapest on Thursday. The launch of the new direct flight “is in line with Hungary and China’s efforts to bolster relations based on mutually beneficial cooperation”, Boglárka Illés, the foreign ministry’s state secretary for bilateral relations, said after the Boeing 787-9 aircraft operated by China Southern landed at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport.
