IKEA Sales Climb to Record HUF 144 Billion in Hungary
Sales in Hungary of Swedish home furnishings giant IKEA rose 4.4pc to HUF 144bn in its business year ended August 31, IKEA Magyarország said.

Online sales accounted for 25pc of turnover, higher than a year earlier. Around 8.2m shoppers visited IKEA stores in Hungary during the period.

IKEA Magyarorszag said it has over 1,650 employees and spent HUF 500m on wage raises and bonuses during the business year.

The company noted that it spent HUF 19.2bn on expanding its store in Soroksar, in the south of the capital. By integrating automation and robotics, the store tripled its logistics area, doubling its online order capacity to nearly 1 million per year.
