Passenger Numbers Up at Budapest Airport - Top Destinations Revealed
- 27 May 2026 5:32 PM
The most popular destinations during the month were London, Milan, Istanbul, Paris and Rome.
In January-April, passenger numbers rose 2.8pc year-on-year to 5,831,900.
Flights to destinations in the Middle East, which account for 7-10pc of seasonal turnover, are gradually restarting, Budapest Airport said. Efforts to diversify and establish partnerships with more airlines over the past two years provide a solid foundation for growth in 2026, regardless of the conflict in the Middle East, it added.
Passenger numbers in May are on target and will be boosted by the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday, the operator said.
Liszt Ferenc cargo volume increased 17.5pc to 38,500 tonnes in April and climbed 15.6pc to 147,100 tonnes in January-April.
