Modem Festival welcomes you back to the next edition held on 28 May. It’s hard to believe that we have been around for five years already. We certainly didn’t do this all on our own, and we want to celebrate and thank those people who have helped us to get where we are now. Going forward we hope to continue to improve and make MO:DEM the ultimate psychedelic experience.

Hungary’s trade unions called for joint efforts to reduce the vulnerability of workers while opposition parties demanded higher wages for workers on Labour Day. The heads of Hungary’s five trade union confederations said in the City Park that the Labour Code should be revised, a fairer tax system introduced and the minimum wage raised to subsistence level.

The fact that the Formula 1 race was being organised for the fourth time already in 1989, the year of the political turn, clearly tells what a remarkable pole-position Hungary used to hold among the countries of the former Eastern bloc. The Hungaroring is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and it’s as popular as always, with excellent prospects.
CryptTalk Given Innovation Award In Parliament, Now Gov’t Plans To Ban App

The Innovation Awards were handed out this week in the Hungarian parliament. One award went to Szabolcs Kun, CEO of Arenim Technologies, makers of the encryption software CryptTalk, reports RTL Klub. Ironically, CryptTalk’s Hungarian clients may end up in prison for two years if Hungary’s Ministry of the Interior has its way.
Government Eyes Free Wi-Fi hotspots In Hungary

The Hungarian government is working on a plan to install free Wi-Fi hotspots in every Hungarian community by the second half of 2018, The National Development Ministry (NFM) told Hungarian economic daily Világgazdaság today.
Nobel Laureate Author Imre Kertész Dies At 86

Nobel laureate author Imre Kertész died at age 86 after a long and serious illness, the publisher Magvető said. The novelist, essayist and translator was the first Hungarian to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming a Nobel laureate in 2002.
