This season, the organisers once again welcome audiences with the grandeur of opera premieres. Budapest’s Erkel Theare will be shut down in November due to the high utility rates for the duration of the heating season, it was announced yesterday.

The primary aim of this exhibition is to spotlight, through symbolism, the relationship between the Hungarian Revolutions of 1848 and 1956, and in doing so, to reveal a continuity in the use of symbols that transcended changes in the political power structure.
