The number of Hungarian Premier League football teams in the 2015/16 OTP Bank League will decrease from the present number of sixteen to twelve after five clubs – Győri ETO FC of Győr, Nyíregyháza Spartacus of Nyíregyháza, PMFC-Matias of Pécs and the Pápa team Lombard Pápa Termál FC, which failed to qualify anyway – were not granted the licence necessary to run in the country’s top championship, ...

Sándor was born in Italy in 1974. He spent a year at high school in Hungary when he was in his early teen years, before moving to Washington with his father when Peter Zwack became ambassador.

As part of their newspaper project some Year 6 pupils at BISB kindly requested to interview Mr John Marshall the Chairman of Vác FC last week as they searched for stories to feature in their international sports section. The club were happy to accept and in line with their social initiative ‘Vác FC in the Community’ the Vác FC Owner was more than delighted to participate.

In its latest research, the Swiss-based International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) sought to identify footballers between the ages of 18 of 23 who are already defining figures of local soccer championships in spite of their young age. The list includes one Hungarian player, Levente Jova.

Vác FC’s 15th and last match of the NB3 autumn season was played on a grey and cold November day in Orosháza. The playing surface was heavy and this was coupled with a hostile away atmosphere.

Budapest is a great place to live if you love theatre. Most of the productions are in Hungarian, but fortunately there are also more and more shows in English. One great example is Budapest English Theatre‘s new comedy, called Pretext, written and directed by Virginia Proud.
