Yesterday President János Áder signed an amended law on higher education which governs the operations of foreign universities in Hungary. The president said in a statement that he had reviewed the bill’s constitutionality as well as its compliance with international treaties.

Operations have been postponed in the Orosháza hospital after the ceiling of an operating room collapsed, revealing a large number of maggots behind it, according to the town’s top Socialist official János Fetser. When the ceiling was checked in a different place, about 100 dead pigeons fell into the room.
