5. Zakopane - This is the Polish destination I mentioned in my last post, which is close enough to the Tátras to combine the two into one trip, if you so desire. This place has it. Charm, charm, charm. I admit I never thought Poland had much of that, although everyone raves about Krakow (I haven’t made it there yet).

"The National Bank (MNB) will keep the base rate unchanged at 5.5%, but raise them again before very long, according to analysts surveyed by Napi Gazdasag. Takarekbank’s Gergely Suppan said the MNB will wait until early 2011 to raise rates, which will come on the heels of higher inflation figures than expected in December and January.

The average price of a litre of unleaded 95-octane petrol is around Ft 354, while the price of diesel topped Ft 340 per litre. These prices stood at Ft 298 and Ft 276, respectively, one year ago.
