Marcell Jankovics’ extraordinary, animated feature-length version of Imre Madách’s 1861 play “The Tragedy of Man” is the most ambitious Hungarian animation ever made, if not the greatest. Now released on Blu-Ray by U.S. company Deaf Crocodile, it is a must-watch, writes David Holzer.
Cinemira International Children’s Film Festival in Budapest this October

The Cinemira International Children’s Film Festival is Hungary’s only event dedicated to films for children and teenagers. This year, the festival expands to two weekends to reach a wider young audience. Cinemira TEEN takes place from October 8-10 at Akvárium Club in central Budapest, while Cinemira KIDS, for ages 4 to 12, will be held on October 23-24 at Millennium Park.
Immersive Dinosaur Experience at Biodome Budapest

On display until 30 March. The interest in dinosaurs have been unabated since British naturalist Richard Owen called a group of ancient reptiles by this name which means “terrible lizards”.

For the first time in Europe the public is invited to the exhibition 'Moving Walls 22 / Watching You, Watching Me'. It explores how photography can be both an instrument of surveillance and a tool to expose and challenge its negative impact. The exhibition is at the Open Society Archives and will run until December 8 and will then travel to Berlin.
