The number of foreign students enrolled at Hungarian universities this academic year has increased to more than 28,000 and could reach 40,000 by 2023, daily Magyar Idők said on Thursday, citing a study presented at a conference at Budapest’s Corvinus University.

This year, the jury selected writers from ten countries – authors from Hungary, Libya (Ibrahim al-Koni), Mozambique (Mia Couto), Guadeloupe (Maryse Condé), South Afrika (Marlene van Niekerk) and the Republic of the Congo (Alain Mabanckou) are among the select ten top literary figures for the first time.
