I’ve long been a supporter of British lifesavers. Ever since I briefly was a lifesaver myself as a student holiday job. And recently I’ve become a trustee of the Lifeboat Fund in the UK. So I’ve been looking for a chance to pick up that cause now that I’m here in Hungary. I’m very pleased to say I’ve found it.

Hungarian professional strong man Sinka “Popeye” Zsolt performed a stunt worthy of making it to the Guinness book of records: applying his bodily strength – more precisely, his teeth – he pulled a 180-seater Airbus A 320 aircraft of Hungarian carrier Wizz Air on the apron of Terminal 1 of Budapest Airport all by himself.

Kayaker Natasa Douchev-Janics can compete for Serbia only if she pays €150,000 by October 31, the Hungarian Kayak-Canoe Federation confirmed yesterday. The federation calls the sum “preparation contribution” and said anybody can pay it on Janics’ behalf.
