Hungarian hussars were detained in Amal, Sweden on Wednesday after local residents filed a report with the police upon seeing the horses in poor health. The hussars rode from Hungary to Amal and are suspected of covering more than 200 miles without stopping, with scars appearing on the horses’ hoofs and lice on their bodies.

Another fire-fighter was taken to Szeged clinic with a collarbone fracture and four others with bruises and all were released. National Disaster Control chief György Bakondi visited them at Szeged headquarters Wednesday afternoon.
