When I stepped off the plane in Hungary with my guidebook in hand, Kehli was one of the first restaurants I discovered, located in the oldest part of Buda. It first opened in 1899 as a small family-style restaurant, serving hearty, traditional Hungarian food and has developed since then.

If you were amongst the privileged few 40,000 people or so who attended this year’s Főzdefeszt and Street Food Show, you would not have been disappointed. In its 8th year, this was the ultimate street party with virtually everything you could wish for.

Budapest has many hidden gems. Recently I was invited to a birthday celebration at one of the city’s latest up-and-coming bistros. The Grey Goose, whose name originates from Grey Goose vodka, opened its doors about eight months ago.
