Sziget Festival Budapest Organisers Eye Record Attendance

The Sziget Festival has a good chance of bringing past years’ downward trends to a halt and setting new attendance records, the head of the company running the event told Thursday’s business daily Világgazdaság. Organisers have already sold more weekly passes for this year’s festival than during the whole of last year’s event, Karoly Gerendai said.

Due to a huge demand Hurts will return this year to Sopron, while thousands are eagerly waiting for the live show of Nero and Modestep as well. The law on the ad tax must be amended in order to close any loopholes and ensure nobody avoids paying the tax, according to ruling Fidesz party lawmaker László L Simon’s proposed law amendment, which will “prevent profit-making multinational media companies from avoiding tax by using their losses as excuse.”
