Hungary’s central bank has room to cut interest rates to as low as 2.5%, and while it said in December that it could slow the pace of easing, this is not a done deal, one of the bank’s deputy governors, Ádám Balog, said on Thursday.

The Hungarian National Meteorological Service has reported that last Sunday saw temperatures reach an all time high in Hungary. In Kaposvar, in the southwest, temperatures reached 16.3 degrees C in the afternoon, exceeding the previous high of 13.8 C for the same time of year in Hungary, as seen in 1919.
