Wagner: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, National Concert Hall Budapest, 26 June
It was between composing the first and second parts of the Ring cycle and after completing Tristan und Isolde that Wagner wrote his sole comic opera.

With its medieval setting, of course, this work goes far beyond a typical comic opera: it conveys a philosophy of life married to the composer’s own aesthetic principles. This hugely successful Budapest Wagner Days production is being staged once again in 2025.

The conductor Ádám Fischer will be joined by singers such as Tobias Schabel, making his debut in the role of Hans Sachs, the ever-popular Magnus Vigilius as Walther von Stolzing, the production's triumphant Beckmesser, Bo Skovhus, Polina Pasztircsák, who will take the stage as Éva, Gábor Bretz as Pogner and Cornel Frey as David.
Place: National Concert Hall Budapest
Address: 1095 Budapest, Komor Marcell utca 1.
