The Ball of Hungarian Wines will be held on 27 February 2016 which will be the eleventh occasion when this magnificent event is organized. The venue is going to be the glamorous InterContinental Budapest which provides a breathtaking view to the most famous sites of Budapest.

The event aims at introducing top quality Hungarian wines in an appropriate environment to exclusive guests. The huge anticipation about the event is a great pleasure for us since this is a true evidence of the value of the Ball and the participants’ trust in the event.

Menu and Wine Selection

Wines of the Ball were selected with care in order to present Hungarian specialties.

Garamvári Winery – Furmint brut and Optimum brut (two methode traditionelle sparkling wines)
The first sparkling wine is made of Furmint exclusively. We can find in its smell butter and fresh fruits like lemon and mango. It has pleasant and harmonic acidity. The second is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Both sparkling wines were awarded and ranked gold in 2015.

Figula Winery: Csopaki Sáfránykert 2013 (Welshriesling white wine from Lake Balaton)
It is a full-bodied wine with aromatic complexity. In the nose we can feel several flowers and oriental spices.

Vida Winery: Hidaspetre Blaufränkisch 2013 (red wine from Szekszárd)
This wine is full of many different aromas of red fruits and has delicious tannins. It is elegant and noble.

Kertész Winery: Pinot Noir 2011 (red wine from Etyek-Buda)
It is rich in aromas like cherry and coffee and a hint of wet leather can also be found in its smell. Sweet spices dominate its taste.

Bock Winery: Bock Cuvée 2011 (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot blended red wine from Villány)
This is the flagship wine of the winery which is a Bordeaux blend. It was matured in cask for 24 months. It has deep red colour and cherry, tobacco, chocolate and vanilla are present in the nose.

Oremus Winery: Tokaji Aszú 2006 (special sweet wine from Tokaj)
Tokaji Aszú is full of freshness. It has a remarkable balance between lively acidity and deep sweetness and this harmony makes aszú different and special; incomparable to any other wines in the world.
100 Wines

The 11th Ball of Hungarian Wines is not only an elegant and elite occasion and gastronomic experience, but also an exclusive wine tasting with 100 different Hungarian wines. The wine selection that belongs to the menu of the Ball includes two sparkling wines and five wines and in addition 93 more wines, altogether more than 500 bottles will be served in the lobby of the ball room with a panoramic view to the Danube. Our objective is to introduce the full range of Hungarian wines by means of those of the best and highest quality (according to grape varieties, styles and wine regions).

Standing Ticket: For guests with standing tickets the door opening is at 8pm, the event starts at 8.30pm.

Walking area of the Ball will be arranged in the lobby of the ball room. Guests can follow the program on screens. After dinner, the dance floor in the ball room will be available for all guests. In case of group purchase, we provide a 2 500 HUF + VAT/person discount between 6-10 persons and 3 500 HUF + VAT/person above 10 persons.
