‘Primanima’ World Festival Of First Animations In Budapest, 24 – 27 October
The Primanima World Festival of First Animations was created as an opportunity to present the works of Hungarian and international young talents who are at the beginning of their career. The festival is back for the 7th time, where the spotlight is yet again on young animation directors.

Student films, graduation films and first films are in competition at the festival for awards given by the professional international jury and the audience. The need for this platform for the newcomer creators is well illustrated by the fact that more than five hundred films are submitted to the festival each year.

At Primanima, connecting professionals, students and the audience is a main priority. After the screenings we organize a Q&A type intimate, interactive meetings with creators and the audience. During the day professional trainings and masterclasses are held by internationally acclaimed creators.

Besides screenings and professional programs, intensive creative workshops are taking place at the festival.

There will be a ton of short animations form students and first-time filmmakers, but we will present feature films (such as Ruben Brandt, the Collector, The Breadwinner, Isle of Dogs, This Magnificent Cake) and will have workshops (for experimental film, for film criticism, animation filmmaking), exhibitions and concerts (Zuboly, Dzsinnkaladzsi, Csángálló).

The young ones will have something to look forward, too: in Budaörs they can come for a fun animation playzone and watch cartoons and there will be screenings all over the country and abroad, as well.
