JYSK to Open Even More New Stores in Hungary
JYSK is planning to open four new shops in Hungary and expand its regional logistics base in Ecser, on the M0 orbital motorway in Pest county, creating hundreds of jobs, the Danish furniture retailer announced.

JYSK currently operates 91 outlets in Hungary. Despite the challenging economic environment, sales rose 19% to Ft 67.6 billion last year, and pre-tax profit edged up 0.4%.

The company serves the Croatian, Slovenian and Slovakian markets from the Hungarian logistics centre, said Sándor Szimeiszter, country director for Hungary, Austria and Greece.

With the expansion of the base in Ecser, the company headcount is set to rise by 100 to 300 in the spring and to 500 at a later stage, he added.

JYSK has raised wages by 25% since January 2022, including 5% at the start of this year, and in addition is offering a string of fringe benefits and bonuses, depending on sales performance.
