TokajGuide: Hungarian Wine Bible Wins at Prestigious International Awards
The fifth edition of the Hungarian-English language TokajGuide won the award for best European wine tourism book at the world competition for gastronomic publications, the Gourmand International Awards.

The award was founded by the French Cointreau family in 1995. Every year, noted gastronomic and wine books, printed or digital publications, and even gastronomic television programs are awarded in separate categories, the author of the local wine guide told MTI on Monday.

According to Gergely Ripka, the awards are held every year at the World Cookbook Fair; this year the awards were presented in Estoril, Portugal, on June 19. At the event, the Hungarian award winner also had the opportunity to present himself on the podium, on the 30th anniversary of the international award.

Gergely Ripka recalled that he has been publishing his book presenting the diverse treasures of the Tokaj wine region for ten years now. Last year, TokajGuide was shortlisted for the Gourmand Awards among European wine tourism books.

The 2021 edition has already received an award in Paris (in the Best European Wine Book category), while now the 2023 edition has been awarded with recognition by the international professional jury.
