AC Programme for Hospitals in Hungary Initiated by Gov't
The government has decided to launch a programme aimed at equipping hospitals with air conditioning or refurbishing existing systems, a government spokeswoman said on Thursday, adding that the scheme was worth 3.6 billion forints.

Anita Kobol said the government's goal was to fully renew obsolete systems "in an effort to adapt to changed climatic conditions and to ensure patient safety".

Concerning details of the programme, Kobol mentioned repairs at Budapest's Szent Laszlo, Jahn Ferenc, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky, Szent Imre, Honved, and Heim Pal hospitals and the National Oncology institute, as well as projects in the hospitals of Gyor and Kaposvar.

She said modern technologies would be applied nationwide to ensure the safe operation of operating theatres, intensive care units, maternity and oncology wards, she added.
