Record Low Morning Temperature in Hungary Recorded this July
A 64-year-old national record for the coldest morning temperature for this day was broken on Thursday when temperatures in Szikszo, in Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen county, plunged to 3.9 degrees Celsius, the HungaroMet weather service reported.

On Wednesday, strong northerly and north-westerly winds swept across much of the country. The wind gradually subsided in the evening and fell calm overnight in most areas, allowing temperatures to drop below 10 degrees by dawn in several locations.

The previous record was 4.3 degrees, measured in Csakvar, in western Hungary, in 1962.
