The festival will feature a wide mix of established Hungarian musicians, and also young talent. The programme ranges from classic and contemporary jazz to fusion, world music and more experimental sounds, with a different concert taking place each hour from 4pm to 9pm.

Performances alternate between the open-air square and the atmospheric interior of the market hall that dates back to 1897 -  the second-oldest of Budapest’s great market halls after the Great Market Hall on Fővám Square.

Friday: From Handpan to Jazz Classics

The festival gets underway on Friday, 11 September, at 4pm with the Baruts Bence Handpan Project on Rákóczi Square.

The music then alternates between the square and the market hall, making it possible to experience several different performers throughout the evening. Symbiosis 5 performs at 5pm in the market hall, followed at 6pm by the Balázs Elemér Group featuring Malek Andrea on the square.

At 7pm, Jáger Bandi Soulistic takes over the market hall, before Canarro performs at 8pm on Rákóczi Square. Friday's programme concludes at 9pm with the Egri János Jr. Trio in the market hall.

Saturday Brings Gipsy Jazz and New Talent

Saturday's programme begins at 4pm with East Gipsy Band on Rákóczi Square, followed at 5pm by the Gáspár Károly Trio in the market hall.

The 6pm slot belongs to Soul&The Blaze + surprise guest, before Manuel Buda / Mediterrantes performs at 7pm in the market hall.

At 8pm, the Snétberger Foundation – Student & Alumni programme highlights emerging musicians on Rákóczi Square. The evening finishes with Fictional Heat at 9pm in the market hall.

The Saturday line-up provides a particularly good opportunity to hear younger performers alongside more established names, reflecting the festival's emphasis on the breadth and future of Hungary's jazz scene.

Sunday: Lively Festival Finale

The final day begins at 4pm with AppleBlue on Rákóczi Square, followed by the Oláh Kálmán Next Generation Trio at 5pm in the market hall.

At 6pm, Tilia takes the outdoor stage, with the Oláh Dezső Vibratone Quartet following at 7pm in the market hall.

The final two performances are Koncz Kriszta Group at 8pm on Rákóczi Square and the Rafael Márió Trio at 9pm in the market hall.

With the venues only a short distance apart, visitors can move between the two locations, creating the option of sampling several different styles and performers rather than committing to a single concert.

The festival is organised by the Józsefváros Municipality together with Rendezvény8, with support from the Italian Cultural Institute. Now in its sixth year, the festival has established itself as one of the district's annual cultural highlights.

All the performances are completely free, with no tickets, registration, or reservations required. Rákóczi Square sits in the heart of Józsefváros, within easy walking distance of Blaha Lujza Square - which is well connected by metro, tram, and bus services.
