Orchids generally remind us of the humid rain forests of South-East Asia or South America, quite rarely Africa. However even here live numerous orchids and they are pretty beautiful ones. Africa’s specialties are the Angraecums with waxy white flowers, the small, fragile and odorous Aerangis’, the terrestrial Disas and many other beauties from the family of the Orchidaceae.

Minister for Rural Development Sándor Fazekas met with beekeepers to discuss development opportunities for the sector. According to beekeepers, acacia honey generates the industry's profits, and if the European Union's proposal to include acacia as an invasive species is adopted, Hungarian producers will go bankrupt.

Ticks are small spider-like insects that feed by inserting their mouths into the skin of a host and slowly taking in blood. During the feeding process they can transmit infections through their saliva. The tick´s saliva also has a numbing effect and so the bite can go unnoticed. In Central Europe the two most common diseases transmitted by ticks are Tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme Disease.

April 12th is the date this year for the Children's Railway Day in Hungary. As usual it offers a special train ride and unique programmes, as the 'heritage railcar set' turns 85 years old this year and it's a rare occasion for this railcar to haul more than one of its trailers at the same time.
