The Festival of Folk Arts (Mesterségek Ünnepe) brings the finest Hungarian craftsmen and their work to Buda Castle from across the country. President János Áder met International Olympic Committee (IOC) head Thomas Bach for talks in Rio de Janeiro late on Monday, which also covered Budapest’s bid to host the 2024 Olympics. The Hungarian Olympic Committee said on its website mob. hu that Áder discussed the Hungarian bid with several IOC members during Rio 2016.

Budapest Picasso Exhibition Attracts Over 150,000 Visitors So Far

Hungary’s largest ever Picasso exhibition has so far attracted more than 150,000 visitors since its opening in the Budapest National Gallery in April, the museum said. Entitled “Picasso - Transfigurations, 1895-1972”, the exhibition shows some 100 paintings, drawings, sculptures and other artwork spanning the artist’s entire oeuvre of 77 years.
