After two years as the main sponsor, Vodafone will not take a sponsorship role in this year’s Sziget Festival, the mobile operator confirmed, citing cost cuts. Vodafone became the main sponsor of the annual open-air summer festival in 2010. The company called the last two years a success, adding that co-operation with the organisers was good.

The Finnish company announced layoffs of 2,300, roughly half of the Hungarian workforce, in February as it moves production of smart phones closer to suppliers and markets in Asia.
