Rapid Covid-19 kits for self-testing will be available in retail chains, household chemical product shops and petrol stations, according to a decree published on Tuesday, as the government has accepted a proposal from the competition authority GVH to promote retail price competition for rapid tests.

The government-mandated price freeze on certain consumer food products went into effect this week, on February 1, which means that from now until May 1, consumer protection inspectors from county and government offices will monitor compliance with the food “price stop” regulation in all parts of the country.

Shops and markets carrying food products with government-mandated official prices have to display that fact on notices posted at their entrances. According to the decree, a logo and image will have to appear on the notice in addition to text notifying customers of the price-fixing policy.
