Hungary’s economy is showing a number of promising signs, but investor confidence is still in need of improvement, the head of the Joint Venture Association said at a group function on Wednesday. Magyar Telekom on Thursday said it planned to cut up to 1,700 jobs over the next year and a half, under an agreement reached with trade unions. About 40% of the redundancies are expected between October 1, 2014 and March 1, 2015, MTel said.
