It was the first time in Hungary for presenting the 5G network in real-life settings in the Magyar Telekom Budapest HQ at Krisztina körút. The test network, operating within the 3.7 GHz spectrum, was established using pre-standard 5G equipment, prior to their commercial launch.

“Austrian-owned furniture manufacturing group Ada is expanding its Hungarian production capacity with an investment of 5.2 billion forints (EUR 16.8 million), towards which the Hungarian Government is providing one billion forints in non-returnable funding, 20 percent of the total cost of the project”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced.

Ericsson and Magyar Telekom presented on Thursday the first 5th generation data connection in Hungary, reaching 22 Gbps downlink speed. The 5G connection was presented in Ericsson Magyarország’s Budapest research hub. The integrated radio technology of a 5G network enables 20 times faster downlink speeds than current mobile technologies, Ericsson Magyarország managing director Gábor Éry said.
