A left-wing columnist thinks that although Prime Minister Orbán is leaning towards Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton is preferable for the world because she is moderate and experienced. A conservative commentator believes that both are poor candidates, but Trump may perhaps change American foreign policy for the better.

The Balaton Cross-Swimming will be organized on Saturday 2 July. More than 5,000 people have registered for the swimming event which will cover a 5.2 kilometre distance between Révfülöp in the north and Balatonboglár in the south.

Ferenc Gyurcsány, the former prime minister of Hungary and chairman of the Democratic Coalition (DK), released a 20-page political pamphlet titled "Many for Hungary" (Sokak Magyarországért). "Many people hope that Orbán and his system would collapse under the weight of its own corruption, or be swept away by an international financial or political crisis.

The annual swim across Lake Balaton between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár will be staged on Saturday, for the 33rd time. Organisers said that they expect thousands again to cover the 5.2km distance. Good weather is forecast, but organisers will make a final decision at noon on Thursday.
