Construction of the Hungarian leg of South Stream – which will carry Russian natural gas – may begin as early as next year – participants of a conference were told in Budapest a few days ago. A senior management member of Gazprom said his firm reckons with Hungarian underground gas storage facilities but only if Gazprom may become a co-owner in them.
